Admiral Takaya, father of Noriko and commander of the doomed Luxion Fleet which was destroyed in the first ever engagement between Earth's forces and the race of space monsters who dominate the galaxy. Before this tragedy, he was as doting a father as possible when forced to spend most of his time in deep space, returning to his daughter every year on her birthday in order to spend the day with her. During the attack on the Luxion, he sacrificed the last seat on an escape pod to Koichiro Ohta, sealing his own fate and effectively starting off the events of the entire series. |
