He has trained both [Shiro](https://anilist.co/character/13711/Shiro) and [Riki](https://anilist.co/character/9079/Riki), and during the beginning of the series, [Gin](https://anilist.co/character/3187/Gin). Five years ago he was out hunting with Gin's grandfather Shiro. They were attacked by the bear [Akakabuto](https://anilist.co/character/9078/Akakabuto) who ripped off Gohei's left ear. In return, Gohei shot out the bear’s right eye. Even though Gohei is a skilled hunter, he loses Shiro because of the monster bear and after a few years Riki. |
