コメント: 前作の『マリオ&ソニック AT バンクーバーオリンピック』の続編であり、2012年にイギリスのロンドンで開催される夏季オリンピック（ロンドンオリンピック）を舞台としている。一部、過去にも収録されていた種目を、新たに改良し再収録している。今作でマリオとソニックが共演するのは4度目となる。なお、マリオ生誕30周年記念と『ソニックシリーズ』誕生20周年の2人の記念の締めくくりの一つの作品となる。
