- エピックゲームズ及びXbox 360における大ヒット作となった『Gears of War』の続編。今作はアンリアルエンジン3の発展型である「アンリアルエンジン3.5」をグラフィックエンジンに使用。描画の表現力が向上し、前作では一度に十体前後しか登場させられなかったキャラクターも今作では数十体まで画面に出すことが可能となり、大軍入り乱れる戦場を表現することが可能となっている。
